- This plan has prepared in collaboration with the State Bank and the Bank Association.
- Through this plan, a discount of about 50,000 will be provided on electric motorcycles and one scooter. That is, the cost of the electric bike that the public was getting for an estimated 250,000 rupees will now be reduced and it will be paid in easy installments of 200,000 rupees.
People Who Receive Electric Bikes
There is no specific criteria for providing these electric bikes, but priority has given to many people who;
- Are between the age limit of 16 and 65 years.
- In this project, women and people with low incomes have given special priority,
- While people pursuing education have been given special priority in this project.
Launch of the Project and Upcoming Achievements:
The government of Pakistan has given priority to electric bikes to make the environment beautiful and this is why they have prepared a plan that will make electric bikes accessible to the people.
- The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, will inaugurate this project on Independence Day, August 14.
Let me tell you that under this project;
- 17 companies in Pakistan obtained licenses to manufacture electric bikes.
- Its main goal is to distribute about 30 percent of electric vehicles across the country by 2030.
Future Plans:
To ensure the success of this project, the government is making more such plans that will make electric vehicles common in the environment and it has been finalized that a subsidy of about one hundred billion rupees will be provided in the next five years and the distribution of the subsidy for these next five years has made in such a way that with us currently, i.e.
- In 2026, a subsidy of nine billion rupees will be provided,
- In the year of 2027, this subsidy will increase to 19 billion.
- In 2028, this vegetable has set at Rs 24 billion and along with it,
- The discount price in 2029 has set at Rs 26 billion.
- In the last year of these five years, i.e. in 2030, about Rs 23 billion will be allocated.
This small program and plan is going to start in 2025. It is the beginning of a very big project to come in the future, under which a target of about 2.213 million electric vehicles has been set by about 2030, which will be 30 percent across the country, while by 2040, the same percentage, which was 30 percent of electric vehicles in 2025, will reach 90 percent and 2060 will be the year in which only electric vehicles will run in all corners of Pakistan.
The main objective of this program is to reduce the cost of imports by promoting electric vehicles and reduce the noise and air pollution caused by traditional petrol-powered vehicles.
