August 2025: Solar Panel Distribution Progress Underway

Phase 1,
Conducted from August to December 2024, successfully delivered 20,000 solar systems across Lahore, Gujranwala, and Rawalpindi.
Phase 2
Followed between January and July 2025, expanding distribution to Multan, Faisalabad, and Bahawalpur with 30,000 more systems installed.
Now in Phase 3 (August to December 2025),
An estimated 50,000 additional solar units are expected to be distributed, covering areas like Sahiwal, Sargodha, and other developing regions. With over 50,000 systems already provided to households, the scheme is well on its way to achieving its target of equipping 100,000 homes with free solar energy solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
This program is designed to help domestic consumers and only those who meet its criteria can benefit from this program. Below are the criteria that you need to know.
- If your electricity bill units are less than 300 in meaning, then you can benefit from this program.
- This program is given exclusively to those families who are low-income and cannot pay the rising electricity bills and therefore rely on fans and bulbs.
- CNIC applicants are eligible for this program.
Only eligible and deserving families are helped through this program and not those who own big shops or factories.
- Customers involved in meter tampering, misuse of multiple meters, or unpaid dues are not eligible.
- Commercial or industrial users are excluded.
Digital verification through WAPDA and LESCO: Your consumption is verified through the reference numbers of your electricity bill.
